He arrives at the appointment on a motorcycle wearing a reporter’s jacket. With a steady gaze and steady feet, Alain Noguès was one of the first partners of the Sygma agency.

Of the members of the team responsible for the agency’s success, Nogues is one of the oldest, but he’s still very active. You can find him and protests and on the campaign trail. “If I stopped taking pictures, I’d get old and bored,” he says with a slight smile. He shared a few memories from the creation of Sygma.”

“I started in 1966 at Reporters Associés with the director Vladimir Rychkoff, aka Lova de Vaysse, who had a beautiful secretary, a brunette with sparkling eyes full of life: Monique Kouznetzoff.”

“Jean Desaunois, the editor-in-chief, invited me to join the team with Henri Bureau. Don’t forget that the agency was very active during the Algerian War, with Hubert Le Campion.”
